Project Officer - Energy EfficiencyECOS - European Environmental Citizens' Organisation for StandardisationBrussels, BelgiumECOS is a non-profit organisation which promotes and defends the environmental interests in standardisation and European product policies. ECOS aims to combat climate change, foster energy efficiency, promote a circular economy, and protect environmental health. ECOS represents 42 member organisations, including the EEB, FoEE, T&E and WWF-EPO.
We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified candidate to join our team working on energy and resource efficiency of products.
Your main tasks will be to:
  • Coordinate input into the regulatory and standardisation processes related to the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Directives;
  • Analyse documents of technical nature and prepare comments and policy positions in layman terms;
  • Contribute to the implementation of various Horizon 2020 projects;
  • Work in close collaboration with external technical experts;
  • Engage and collaborate with ECOS’ members and other environmental NGOs;
  • Assist with the preparation of funding applications and reports, and undertake other administrative work;
  • Develop regular updates, briefings, positions and publications for ECOS target audiences.
The main skills and competences we are looking for include:
  • University degree in engineering or science (essential);
  • Two years’ relevant working experience (e.g. energy efficiency, environmental policies, project management);
  • Excellent time and project management skills;
  • Experience in EU-funded projects an asset;
  • Knowledge of EU policy-making processes an advantage;
  • Strong analytical skills & ability to translate technical information into digestible information;
  • Outstanding communication skills;
  • Very good command of English, other EU languages an asset;
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new issues, proactivity and self-motivation;
  • Ability to work both independently and in cooperation with others in an international environment;
  • Experience with environmental NGOs and/or strong commitment to the values and mission.
